This is a 2-piece design of a Victorian era Walking Gown Top & Skirt set. The fabrics used are a mix of semi-glossy jacquard, velvet with applique embellishments with gold threading throughout.
The top is slightly longer in the back than it is in the front, reminiscent of the styles of the Victorian era. A single button on the front is for decoration with the front actually sewn closed. The sleeves are short with self ties on the sides.
The skirt has a very comfortable wide elastic waist and a very generous, wide sweeping hemline that can be worn with a crinoline. No velvet is on the skirt, but it does have the gold threading and applique throughout.
